Mosaid Technologies Inc. is suing computer giant IBM Corp. for infringement of six patents, the company said Monday.
“We are taking this action to protect our intellectual property because we have been unable to reach a reasonable settlement with IBM, despite many years of negotiation,” John Lindgren, Mosaid president and CEO, said in a news release.
The six patents cover Ottawa-based Mosaid’s fundamental dynamic random access memory (DRAM) circuit inventions, which IBM uses in microprocessors and application-specific integrated circuits circuits with a specialized use Mosaid said.
Looks like Google isn’t the only one going to court. Usually these types of suits won’t go to court because it always has a negative impact on share prices, no matter how unlikely the chances of Mosaid has of winning.
