On Thursday, Eupraxia Pharmaceuticals filed its preliminary prospectus as it looks to list on the TSX Index. The company is looking to raise $50M at prices between $9.00-11.00 per share.
The listing is expected to close on March 4, 2021 and Eupraxia will have 12,426,888 common shares outstanding or 13,176,888 common shares assuming over-allotment option is exercised in full and it prices at the mid-range of expectations ($10.00).
This would give the company a valuation of between $124-$132M and will trade under the symbol EPRX.
Eupraxia is a specialty pharmaceutical company, with a focus on advancing a portfolio of drug candidates in the areas of osteoarthritis, post-surgical pain, anti-infectives, oncology and veterinary medicine.
Eupraxia’s lead product candidate, EP-104IAR, currently in Phase 2 clinical trials, is designed to meet the significant unmet medical need and market demand for long-lasting pain relief for knee osteoarthritis (OA).
According to the company, OA accounts for approximately 80% (US$5.6 billion) of the global US$7.3 billion OA therapeutics market and is currently underserved.
As is normal for early stage bio-techs, the company doesn't generate any revenue and proceeds will be used to further clinical trials and general expenses.
There is still a long way to go in terms of seeing EP-104IAR as an approved drug. Here is a quick snapshot of the company's Phase 2 timeline:
Investors will have to be patient with this company. There is still plenty of time left, and this isn't one investors have to go chasing immediately upon open.
Likewise, small cap biotechs are highly volatile and make big moves as news of clinical trial progress is known.
