If you are one of those people who strive to get your Christmas shopping done early, here are 13 tips for you during Black Friday Shopping.
13 ways you can make the most of your Black Friday shopping
The time has come. Christmas is on the way and some of us like to treat our relatives to some gifts! Black Friday can be a great time to get some things at discount before the Christmas season.
Here is a list of things that can help you get the most out of your Black Friday.
Make a list of things that you want to buy.
Make a good list of things that you plan to buy. For each item do some research and find an average price of that item online. Not all Black Friday deals are real deals. You will want to compare this pre-Black Friday price to the Black Friday price itself, so that you can see if it is actually a good deal.
Make sure you sign up for the email lists of the retailers you plan on visiting.
This is going to get you into the loop. Chances are they will do a sizable release for Black Friday via their email list. So get on that list so you can get the coupon codes to save some money on your things.
Organize your list from the most important items to the least important.
Number one, the mother-in-law’s gift, number ten, your cousin’s girlfriend who is showing up at dinner this year. We need to prioritize to make sure that no social turbulence occurs at the gift swap that could land us in hot water. Keep your more important items at the top of the list and deal with them first.
Only buy the things that you can get for a screaming deal.
We don’t want to over spend during this trip. Try not to buy items that aren’t on sale. Make choices on items based on what you can save the most money on during this time.
Head out with a friend.
Two sets of eyes are better than one. Plus the second opinion on clothing items doesn’t hurt. Bring a friend with you to cover more ground.
Don’t forget to price match!
Whenever you are about to drop the hammer on an item, make sure you go online and check with some competitors to see what they are selling it for.
Even a “discounted” price for one retailer might not be lower than the price from another retailer. Be vigilant with this practice as it can potentially save you a lot of money.
Set the alarm clock.
You will want to get up as early as you can to get ready for the day. Get up earlier than usual and get prepared for the day, bring your own bags if you wish, grab a coffee at home before heading in for the hectic shopping. Showing up late for Black Friday is essentially like showing up to dinner when it’s only the scraps left.
Check for door busters.
Do your homework in general. Know before you go which retailer is going to have the item you are wanting for the lowest price possible. Door busters can sometimes be difficult to nab, only spend the time for a limited stock door buster if you really think it is worth it.
If you show up for a door buster and there are 200 people in line, admit your defeat and move on. You have missed your opportunity please try again next year.
Know what the return policy is on items.
Some of your things are likely going to be gifts, so it is best to know what the return policy is on these items before buying them. Make sure to get gift receipts, and keep any receipts for your own things as well.
Park your vehicle as far away as possible.
Chances are the parking lots around shopping centers are going to be crazy. If you are driving, park as far away as possible in order to not spend half of the day looking for a parking spot, and missing all of the great early deals.
If you have too much stuff, grab a couple friends to help carry everything and head out for a Black Friday success dinner afterwards!
Follow your favorite retailers on social media.
Check in with your favorite retailers via social media during the week of Black Friday and see if they post any sales on items that you are looking for.
Search for coupons.
While you are out and about searching for the items on your list, check for coupons online as you enter stores. Know if they have released a Black Friday online coupon. Maybe you can have the item shipped right to your door for cheaper than in store!
We all want to save some money on some things. But try to plan out what you want to buy and how much money you have to spend. Stick to this budget and don’t over spend buying stuff that you see while in the store that wasn’t initially on the list.
Overspending will have you concerned about your financial situation for the coming holidays. Stay within your budget and leave happily knowing you got some great deals on things!
