We saw a bit of a jump in the markets last week as the NASDAQ gained nearly 7%, the S&P 500 6.5%, and the TSX 2.73%. However, there are simply too many uncertainties in the economy today to say we are out of the woods. However, our strategy remains the same. Buy strong companies, and hold them long term.
And speaking of strong companies, this drawdown has presented some options we feel members may want to look into. As such, we have a new addition to the Bull List this week, and that is TFI International (TSE:TFII).
This e-mail will be short and sweet, as there is plenty of information to read inside of the TFII report, we’ll just highlight some of the key pieces. Of note, below the TFI report, we’ll dive into the progression of our NFT project and what you can do to claim your free Stocktrades NFT.
A little on TFI International (TSE:TFII)
This is a company that both Mat and I own. TFI International Inc is a transportation and logistics company domiciled in Canada. The company derives the majority of its revenue domestically, followed by the United States.
After a recent drawdown due to recessionary fears, TFI International has now entered what we view to be triple-threat territory. What this means is that the company presents strong growth, income, and value for Canadians. Interestingly enough, we added TFI International to the Bull List in 2019 in the $40 range, with the triple-threat thesis being the backbone of the addition. We discuss the company’s valuation from not only a historical perspective but a discounted cash flow perspective inside of the report.
Many will ask “what about the recession?” To that, we have to look at how the company has performed historically. From 2007 to 2012, arguably one of the worst recessions since the great depression, TFI International’s Adjusted EBITDA margins were maintained.
The industry is heavily fragmented, and we witnessed TFI International taking advantage of this during the height of the pandemic, as they bought up assets for pennies on the dollar from struggling companies. We feel even if we were to enter a recession in Canada and the United States, the company will be able to continue its plan of strategic acquisitions to fuel growth, as it is one of the best-positioned trucking companies in North America.

The progression of our NFT project
Our Stocktrades Genesis Pass project has come a long way since we decided to launch it in early 2022, and we’re happy to say that we will be minting (selling our NFT) at some point this summer.
