BCE Long Term

Dan, do you think there might be contrarian move on BCE to some extent. Perhaps there is a “method to their madness” taking a gamble to expand into the US. Seems growth in Canada is very limited. If they could grab some space in the US market do you think this would be a catalyst for BCE to recover and flourish long term.

Unfortunately until the company cuts the dividend, I remain a pretty firm bear on the company and have been one for the better part of 18 months.

The dividend is unsustainable and outright unaffordable.

If you want a contrarian signal that could end up with BCE flourishing over the long-term, I truly do believe it starts with a dividend cut. Once the company slashes the dividend by 50%-75% to make it more affordable, it will be able to grow shareholder value instead of continually destroying it via debt issuances, poor cash flow generation, and no revenue growth.
