ENB Equivalent

Hi Dan, what would be the US equivalent to Enbridge in the US, and which one would you be comfortable with as a long term play.

Also, your thoughts on MLPA from Global X

Thanks a lot

Your US equivalent would probably be Kinder Morgan. No problems with them as a long term play on a pipeline/utility company. Only thing I will say is Kinder went through some difficulties a decade or so ago and had to cut the dividend. Enbridge has not went through this type of situation.

I do not know much about MLPs overall, so I can't speak much on that ETF, but I do know they are very tax inefficient for Canadian's to own. There is a 10% exit tax on a lot of these companies you pay whether or not you are profitable with them or not. However, I am not 100% sure if you pay this tax if you own an ETF of MLPs or not. I think it would be best to touch base with an accountant on that.
