Owning the underlying portfolio of individual equities will have you ahead over the long run. Not to mention, with HHIS, you'll get less than 100% of the upside, but likely 125% of the downside due to the leverage.

These funds are having their day in the sun due to the large bull market, which is hiding a lot of the deficiencies they have. But that does not mean they do not exist. They just haven't occurred yet.
