HI Carl,
My apologies for the delay on answering the Americas Silver Corp (USA) question. In your original question, you indicated that it was undervalued by as much as 80% - I'm curious how you came to that conclusion.
The company is trading at 1.96 times book value and 10 time sales - this compares to industry averages of 1.62 and 3.06 respectively. It is also above the company's historical average of 1.41 times book value and 1.93 times sales. The company typically generates negative ROE and ROA and has hasn't turned a profit for a number of years.
This is a young producer which is ramping up operations and is expected to produce 90-100K ounces of gold with AISCs of approximately $1,000 per ounce at the mid-range. Not the lowest cost producer, but not the highest either. COVID-19 has hampered operations in a big way, as production was shut down at its CosalΓ‘ mine.To top it off, its mine suffered from an illegal blockade in the quarter. Furthermore, it seems Relief Canyon ramp up operations suffered some issues. Granted, in its latest update it indicated that Relief Canyon was "trending positively".
Overall, it seems the company has a promising growth profile. However, it has suffered from operational setbacks which is likely the reason for its underperformance. The higher gold and silver prices will no doubt help the company but this is a small cap that is likely to be quite volatile.
As for the link to the AQN profile - double-checked and it seems to be working so not sure what the issue is - you can find it here:
