Longevity Pension Fund - Stocktrades Canada

Hello I would be curious on any thoughts about this new mutual fund from Purpose Investments. Its similar to an annuity with the promise of better distributions over the life of the investor. Right now it can only be obtained through financial advisors but I did read an article that mentioned Class D units for self directed investors would eventually become available.

This seems too good to be true. Do you have any thoughts on potential risks/downsides that one would need to carefully consider before jumping in? Im really liking this product as an option to invest in a RRIF. Thank you.

This is a mutual fund that is designed to provide income through retirement. But, there is a LOT of nuances with these things and it is very very important you understand what you're buying before you buy it. In fact, it pretty much says in the fund fact sheet it's primarily designed for those who are born in 1947 or earlier.

The fund fact document is going to highlight a lot of pros/cons and who it's for. Have a read of that and drop me any questions you do have.
