I realize this is out of Stocktrades’s scope on this platform but, with your knowledge and experience, what is your take on DeFi investing? Is it something you would consider in a portfolio?

Hey Domenic (sorry for the delay in answering. Dan typically defers to me on these questions and I was away for a few days).

TBH, I am not super well-versed in the various DEFI options. That said, I believe in the future of Web3 and crypto like Bitcoin and Ethereum. While not necessarily what people refer to as DeFi, I do like BTC hs a decentralized currency and ETH for their smart contract potential.

The problem with DeFi at the moment is that it is the wild west. It will take years before true DeFi emerges through reputable organizations. Today, it is so hard because of the multitude of shit coins layered on top of supposed DeFi solutions. That said, if you are knowledgeable in the space, having exposure is not a bad idea. I'm just not comfortable enough to have any position in DeFi currently. As mentioned, I have stuck to mainly BTC and ETH but that is because I understand the mechanics of those.

But to circle back to the last question, yeah - I would consider it in a portfolio if I was comfortable enough with it. I wouldn't go too crazy and keep my allocation to less than 2% of my portfolio.

Not sure if that helps, but let me know.

Mat
