like before market opens

between 7:00 and 9:30 am..

the prices are something….but they change at 9:30

is premarket price an indicator of future price

Prices one can observe by clicking on a stock in a brokerage account..before 9:30 am are very high..why

Hey there. Are you talking about the US markets? Investors can participate in after market trading. However here, that doesn't exist. We do have very small windows however during the evening where we can trade aftermarket on the TSX.

The open price you're seeing when stocks open up is due to overall supply and demand. If there are a lot of limit orders for example that were placed over the weekend that get triggered on market open, this could drive prices instantly higher/lower.
