Questrade and transfers - Stocktrades Canada

I have transferred trading accounts to Questrade and they told me it takes longer if I trade within the account while transferring. Do you know if you can buy a stock in your existing account in Questrade and then transfer it over to your new TFSA account so you don’t have to wait 20 days to buy something?

That is a good question and something that is best left to Questrade to answer.

Personally, I am not touching any of the accounts until they are all over to Questrade. When I moved from Qtrade to Wealthsimple, I did some purchases while the transfers were going on and all it did was add to the annoyance of the transfers being rejected/reinstated.

There is nothing investors should feel the need to buy so eagerly that they can't wait the couple weeks to a month it takes to transfer. Company fundamentals don't change over that time period!
