Switch CAR.UN for more DIR.UN

Me, thinking of selling CAR.UN and adding to DIR.UN. My reason, DIR.UN has more upside. In the income portion of the portfolio, about 18% of total portfolio, CAR.UN has a weighting of 1.47%, while DIR.UN  comes in at 6.88% but I’d be okay with overweighting DIR.UN. What is you take for this potential move???…..Tom

I am more of a fan of industrial properties than residential. I think residential could be entering a tricky situation over the next few years here especially in the event of "higher for longer" in regards to rates.

Both of these REITs are very similar in terms of value IMO. However, Dream is in the better financial position in virtually all aspects.

That said.... 8% is a hefty position in a single REIT in your portfolio. Making that decision is ultimately up to you, the risk tolerance, and the overall structure of the portfolio.

But I guess if you're looking on my opinion on the move I'd say this. If I were to buy one of them today, it would be DIR.
