I have never really been a fan of the company. Primarily because of its valuation relative to what it does. Yes, there is a lot of headlines and potential forward growth of numerous businesses, but at this point in time, with 85%+ of the company's revenue coming from automobiles, I will value the company as an automobile company with maybe a bit of a premium attached for some higher margin verticals.
I have been criticized quite heavily over the years for my dislike of the company. However, since 2021, the company has effectively went nowhere, with total returns of around 11% while the S&P 500 has gone up by 55%.
The company is exposed to tariffs significantly, and its CEO often demands to be the center of attention.
I am more than happy to just sit on the sidelines and watch with Tesla. Erratic management, expensive valuation, and a lot of "what ifs" in terms of forward cash flow generation.
