HI James,
Blackberry is experiencing a very nice jump today as it announced a new partnership with Amazon to develop and market BlackBerry IVY, a cloud-connected intelligent vehicle data platform and it will tie in BB's QNX and AMZN's AWS platforms. It is an exciting initiative, but also important to keep perspective. It is a platform in development which is not yet comeercialized.
In terms of cashing out holding, or adding, that is really a personal decision typically comes back to one own's investment goals. Some things to consider include - why did you buy it in the first place? Has the investment thesis changed? If it hasn't perhaps you hold or add. If it changes for the better, maybe you add. If it changes for the worse, maybe you sell. After a big run up, do you see a better opportunity? Do you have a partial or full position where adding may mean going overweight? So many factors that goes into such a decision.
Setting goals and understanding why you bought something is important. This allows you to put emotion aside, and make decisions based on objectionable data.
