What are your thoughts of new CDR’s?

Google, Netflix, Tesla etc that have been introduced by CIBC.? Are they worth looking so that you buy into the FANNG stocks. Let me know if you have any opinion has a way of getting into these stocks a lower price and using Canadian funds.

Hey there,

There is nothing wrong with these products. They are good ways for those to get exposure to some notable stocks without having to buy them in the US. It is an excellent way for new investors to get exposure. It also minimizes the exchange one is paying and enables fractional share ownership.

Overall they are solid products that fit a specific purpose. I would say however, that if you are already used to buying US accounts and have it all set up , and enough funds to purchase whole shares on the US markets, then these products are not likely for you.
