Both are certainly attractive options right now from both an income and valuation standpoint. Both are being dragged down by rapidly rising policy rates.
I'd say the upside potential for both of them is similar in regards to when we see policy rates head downwards. We should begin to see pricing recoveries and for the most part, if you identify strong companies in both sectors, the dividends/distributions should be safe.
In terms of REITs and Telecoms from a core holding perspective, I have core holdings in both Telus and Granite. I believe them to both be the best in class in their respective sectors.
