By the way this question is phrased I am guessing you have enough US and Canadian exposure, however you are lacking international and want to add some. If this is thre case, I do not believe XWD or XAW are the funds you'd need to look for in this situation because they are primarily allocated to the United States. XWD is 75%~ US and XAW around 66%.
I do like a fund like XEF. It is a large index fund full of 2500+ holdings in mostly European developed markets and Japan.
Let me know if I'm somehow reading the question wrong though. But for the most part, XAW and XWD are index funds if you want large scale North American exposure (with XAW having 0 Canadian exposure) with a little bit of emerging and developed mixed in. If you JUST want the emerging/developed international exposure in the fund, you may need to look elsewhere.
