January 18, 2026 – US Foundational Stocks

Following up on the Canadian release earlier this month, the 2026 US Foundational Stock list is now officially live for Stocktrades Premium members.

Just like with the Canadian list, I’ve stuck with the strategy of ignoring sector limits. This allows me to focus purely on the 11 companies that I believe make up an outstanding core.

During markets like the one we are in right now, a lot of people ignore their core holdings. Why buy boring blue-chips when you can buy small cap AI stocks that are doubling every year?

This is all fine and dandy. Until the music stops, of course. And at that point, you will want a portfolio that can withstand the volatility.

But, you’ve heard all of this from me numerous times before. Let’s dig into the list.

There have been two removals from the lineup this year, Starbucks and Pepsi. When you click to the page below, I will have a detailed explanation as to why I removed them.

The two additions, Taiwan Semiconductor (TSM) and S&P Global (SPGI), take their place. Taiwan Semiconductor was a Bull List addition a few months ago, which always had an end destination of the Foundational Stock List. However, I try to not make additions to this list mid-year.

For S&P Global, this has been a long time coming. This stock would have likely been on the list 2-3 years ago if I didn’t place the “sector limit” on myself. But now that I’ve abandoned the limit, it certainly deserves a place on this list.

I explain my core thesis around all of the US Foundational Stocks in page linked below. As always, any questions, feel free to hop on the Discord or ask them in the Q&A.
