STOCKTRADES — TERMS OF SERVICE

By accessing or using Stocktrades.ca and any of its paid platforms, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, you must discontinue use immediately. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Stocktrades Ltd (“Stocktrades,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a Canadian corporation.
These Terms apply to all memberships, including Stocktrades Premium, ETF Insights, and any free trial periods.
1. DISCLAIMER & LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
1.1. Stocktrades provides investment opinions and educational content only — not investment advice. Nothing on Stocktrades.ca, any paid platform, email communication, Discord channel, or any other communication from Stocktrades Ltd constitutes a solicitation to buy or sell any security or a recommendation of any particular investment strategy.
1.2. You should consult a qualified investment, tax, or legal professional before making any financial decisions. All content on Stocktrades represents the views of the authors and should not be relied upon as professional financial advice.
1.3. All information, data, analysis, stock grades, fair value estimates, portfolio analytics, screener results, reports, and any other content on Stocktrades.ca is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, either expressed or implied. We make no representations or warranties about the completeness, accuracy, reliability, or suitability of any information for any purpose.
1.4. In no event will Stocktrades Ltd be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or any other form of loss or damage arising from your use of Stocktrades.ca or any of its features, tools, or paid platforms.
1.5. You acknowledge that investing involves risk. You agree that past or current results have no bearing on future performance. You assume full responsibility for any investment decision you make while using any feature of Stocktrades.ca.
2. PLATFORM TOOLS & FEATURES
Stocktrades provides a variety of tools and features for informational and educational purposes. The following disclaimers apply to specific platform features:
2.1. Portfolio Tracker
The Portfolio Tracker allows you to manually enter or import (via CSV) your holdings, transactions, and cash positions for personal tracking purposes. Portfolio data, including but not limited to holdings, adjusted cost base (ACB) calculations, returns, income tracking, daily performance, and portfolio snapshots, is calculated based on user-entered data and third-party price feeds. Stocktrades does not verify the accuracy of user-entered data and is not responsible for errors in portfolio calculations. The Portfolio Tracker is not a brokerage account, does not execute trades, and ACB figures provided are blended averages across accounts — they are not intended for tax reporting purposes. You should consult a qualified tax professional for any tax-related calculations.
2.2. Stock Screener & Heatmap
The Stock Screener and Market Heatmap display financial data sourced from third-party providers. Stocktrades does not guarantee the accuracy, timeliness, or completeness of this data. Screener results and heatmap visualizations are for informational purposes only and do not constitute recommendations.
2.3. Fair Value Calculator & DCF Tool
The Fair Value Calculator and Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) tool produce estimates based on financial models and assumptions. These estimates are inherently uncertain, are not guarantees of actual value, and should not be the sole basis for any investment decision.
2.4. Stock Reports, Grades & Analysis
Bull Reports, Foundation Reports, stock grades, Dan’s Take commentary, and all other analytical content reflect the opinions of the Stocktrades team at the time of publication. All opinions are subject to change without notice. Report content, including stock grades, represents subjective editorial judgment and not objective financial assessments.
2.5. AI-Powered Features
Certain features on Stocktrades, including but not limited to the Ask tool, use artificial intelligence (AI) to generate responses. You acknowledge that AI-generated responses are experimental and prone to “hallucinations” — the generation of confident but factually incorrect information. AI responses may contain errors, inaccuracies, fabricated data, or outdated information despite the presence of a current date stamp. AI-generated content does not constitute investment advice, is not reviewed for accuracy before delivery, and should not be relied upon as the basis for any financial decision. Stocktrades Ltd accepts no liability for any losses or decisions made based on AI-generated content.
2.6. Earnings Calendar & Compare Tool
Earnings data, comparison metrics, and related financial data are sourced from third-party providers and may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate. Stocktrades does not guarantee the accuracy of this information.
2.7. Watchlist
The Watchlist feature is a personal organizational tool. Inclusion of a security on your watchlist does not constitute a recommendation by Stocktrades.
2.8. Model Portfolio (Dan’s Portfolio)
Any model or featured portfolio displayed on Stocktrades reflects the personal holdings or opinions of the author and is shown for educational purposes only. It is not a recommendation to replicate the portfolio.
3. THIRD-PARTY DATA
3.1. Stocktrades relies on third-party data services for financial data including, but not limited to, stock prices, earnings data, financial statements, ETF data, and exchange rates. Although this data comes from sources we believe to be reliable, we make no warranties as to its completeness, accuracy, or timeliness.
3.2. Stocktrades cannot control the availability or accuracy of third-party data services. Temporary interruptions, data delays, or inaccuracies in third-party data are beyond our control, and we accept no liability for losses arising from reliance on such data.
3.3. Market data displayed on Stocktrades, including stock prices, exchange rates, and portfolio valuations, may be delayed by 15–20 minutes or more depending on the exchange and data provider. Stocktrades does not provide real-time market data. You acknowledge that prices shown on the platform may not reflect current market conditions, and Stocktrades Ltd is not responsible for any losses, slippage, or adverse outcomes resulting from decisions made based on delayed or stale data.
4. DISCORD COMMUNITY
4.1. Certain Stocktrades memberships include access to our private Discord server. In addition to these Terms, you agree to comply with all rules posted within the Discord server.
4.2. You agree not to engage in harassment, hate speech, racism, sexism, exploitation, or any other form of disrespectful conduct.
4.3. Information shared on Discord, whether by the Stocktrades team or other members, represents the views of the individual author. It is not investment advice and should not be treated as a solicitation to buy or sell any security.
4.4. Stocktrades cannot control the content, communications, links, or images posted by members in the server and assumes no liability for member-generated content.
4.5. Use of the Discord server could result in detrimental financial outcomes. You assume full responsibility for any investment decision made based on Discord content.
4.6. Stocktrades Ltd reserves the right to remove you from the Discord server and permanently cancel your membership, without refund, for any reason.
4.7. Stocktrades Ltd reserves the right to modify Discord server rules at any time, without notice.
5. QUESTION & ANSWER FEATURES
5.1. Stocktrades includes question-and-answer features on the platform. Stocktrades Ltd is not liable for any loss or damage arising from acting on information contained in questions or answers, and assumes no liability for content posted by members.
6. GRANT OF LICENSE & ACCOUNT TERMS
6.1. Your Stocktrades account is licensed to a single user. Sharing your login credentials with any other person will result in non-refundable cancellation of your membership.
6.2. You shall not adapt, alter, recreate, or redistribute any content from Stocktrades.ca without written permission from Stocktrades Ltd. You are strictly prohibited from selling or redistributing content, in whole or in part, including screenshots.
6.3. You shall not use Stocktrades.ca for any non-personal or commercial purpose.
6.4. You shall not adapt, alter, replace, or remove any trademarks or copyrights associated with Stocktrades Ltd.
6.5. You shall not directly or indirectly imply that Stocktrades Ltd endorses, sponsors, certifies, or is affiliated with any of your conduct, content, products, or services.
6.6. Stocktrades Ltd owns the copyright to all original content on Stocktrades.ca, including articles, reports, tools, calculators, graphics, and data. If you wish to redistribute any content, contact us at dkent@stocktrades.ca.
6.7. You are strictly prohibited from selling or transferring your membership to another user.
6.8. Upon cancellation of your subscription, for any reason, you agree to permanently delete any Stocktrades content from all devices under your control, including physical copies.
7. SUBSCRIPTION & BILLING
7.1. Your subscription will continue until cancelled or terminated. Unless you cancel via your account dashboard, your subscription will automatically renew at the interval specified in your subscription details. A renewal notification email will be sent seven days prior to renewal.
7.2. Stocktrades offers a 30-day money-back guarantee on annual memberships for first-time subscribers who did not use a free trial. Stocktrades Ltd will review the member’s account for misuse prior to issuing a refund. Misuse includes, but is not limited to: downloading or screenshotting more than 10 stock reports, bulk-exporting screener or portfolio data, sharing login credentials, or any activity consistent with acquiring content without intent to maintain a subscription. If no misuse is found, the subscription will be refunded in full. This guarantee applies to annual subscriptions only. Stocktrades Ltd reserves the right to reject a refund request at its discretion.
7.3. No refunds will be issued on subscriptions that have already renewed.
7.4. Stocktrades Ltd reserves the right to cancel your subscription at any time, without notice.
7.5. Stocktrades Ltd reserves the right to modify subscription pricing. Existing subscribers will be notified of any price changes prior to their next renewal.
8. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
8.1. All content, tools, features, software, designs, and data on Stocktrades.ca are the property of Stocktrades Ltd and are protected by Canadian and international copyright and intellectual property laws.
8.2. No use of Stocktrades.ca, including its blog, investment platform, tools, or any other features, is authorized except under the conditions of these Terms.
9. METERED & PUBLIC ACCESS
9.1. Certain content, including Bull Reports and Foundation Reports, may be made available to non-subscribers on a metered basis. All disclaimers and limitations in these Terms apply equally to metered and public content.
10. EXTERNAL LINKS & ADVERTISING
10.1. Stocktrades.ca contains links to external websites not operated by Stocktrades Ltd. We have no control over the content or availability of external sites. The inclusion of a link does not imply endorsement.
10.2. Stocktrades.ca contains affiliate links and advertising. When you click on certain links, we may receive a commission. Stocktrades may accept cash advertising, sponsorship, or paid insertions on our blog. However, we will never accept paid sponsorship or insertions in Stocktrades Premium or ETF Insights content.
10.3. Some advertisements on the site are served by third-party ad networks.
11. AVAILABILITY
11.1. Stocktrades Ltd makes every effort to keep the website running smoothly. However, we accept no responsibility and will not be liable for the website being temporarily unavailable due to technical issues, maintenance, or matters beyond our control.
12. GOVERNING LAW
12.1. These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Stocktrades.ca shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Province of Alberta.
13. MODIFICATIONS
13.1. Stocktrades Ltd reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the website. Your continued use of Stocktrades.ca after any modification constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
