Bellus is an early stage pharmaceutical company with a focus on treatments for chronic coughs. The company's share price cratered earlier this year because Phase 2 trials of its SOOTHE clinical trial for chronic cough did not produce great results. It has since begun Phase 2B but results are not expected until Q4 of this year.
It also has the Phase 2 BLUEPRINT clinical trial for chronic pruritus and once again, those result are expected in Q4.
Much like any other early-stage pharmaceutical which generates little-to-no revenue, it is entirely dependent on the success of its clinical trials The company isn't off to a great start here and its share price was more than halved as a result. It can certainly rebound if Phase2B produces good results or if its Blueprint trial does well, but it is a risk that investors must consider. If they post poor results, you're likely to see their share price fall further.
