Hi Dan, can you explain what this recent stock split was about.
Did investors loose money as a result of this.
Is this a buy, hold or sell as a result?

Thanks for your explanation. So you would not recommend adding to this?

Brookfield is in a routine dollar cost averaging strategy for me. I buy it routinely, and will likely buy it routinely for the foreseeable future.

Terrific. I was hoping to add but was not sure which way to go after the split. Thanks for your insight.

Hey there. The split doesn't really mean anything. If a stock trading at $60 does a 3 for 2 stock split, that means for every 2 shares you own of Brookfield, you'll get 3 new ones. So in this case, the price would drop down to $40. 2 shares at original price ($120) is split into 3 ($120/3= $40).

You don't lose any money in a split. It is often done to keep the share price more attractive to retail investors. But overall, it is losing its luster because of fractional shares, but some companies still do it.
