Can one transfer the shares to someone within the family

Is it possible to transfer the shares which I hold in my account to my family member without selling & rebuying on others account?
If yes, what should be the process as my account is bank investDirect portal and my family member’s account is on Questrade?

Hey there. Is this in a taxable investment account? If it is, it is very likely you would be subject to capital gains/loss tax when the transfer is initiated. I'd be speaking to an accountant for sure in this regard.

In terms of the actual transfer, I'm not sure, but I would imagine it would be fairly easy. You'd simply contact your brokerage and ask for a transfer in kind to the said family member. I'd imagine every brokerage has a different process.
