Canadian Banks

Question

Your answer re BMO was that you dollar cost average into it and implied that Canadian Banks are fine. Do you dollar cost average into all of the big five and if not, which ones? And lastly do you include National Bank along with the big 5?

Hi there. No, I don't dollar cost average into all of them. I own TD, BMO, and Royal Bank, and I maintain relatively equal weight positions in all three. Typically, I have them making up 3-4% of my portfolio each. Right now they're a bit sporadic, with Royal sitting around 3.5% and BMO sitting at around 2.9%, with TD right in the middle.
