Hey there. I actually answered a question on Canoe about 2-3 weeks ago on the Q&A. Here were my thoughts, which are the exact same right now:

"
The fund has performed exceptionally well over the last while here. It does bother me a bit that they mostly brag about their returns relative to the TSX Index but half the portfolio is US stocks. The more accurate benchmark for this fund would be a blended benchmark of the S&P 500 and the TSX/60. When you do that, the returns don't look as good, but they're still fairly strong.

The other strong note about the fund is the majority of its distribution, at least in 2022 which is the last year we have data on (I imagine 2023 will come soon) over 76% of it is capital gains, which should be the more tax-friendly income for most people, but certainly not a guarantee. Many people think Canoe pays a high "dividend" when in reality only around 13% of the distribution in 2022 was dividends.
Overall, I'm a fan. If I were going to buy, I'd treat this like any normal position in my portfolio allocation wise."
