CGX Cineplex

Hi there,

I recall the discussion from few months ago re CGX, and the gloomy prospect at the time with a failed contract, closed theatres due to Covid, few new moving made, and streaming for those movies still released. With the time perspectives since, and almost doubling from $4.75 in October to $9.4 now, I was wondering if you see a different future to CGX, or still think it is a dead end.

Thanks!

CGX's stock price benefitted quite a bit from the news of a vaccine, but it's since started to fall again.

There is going to be high amounts of volatility in the stock's price over the next year or so. As such, it's possible a lot of momentum investors and traders could make some money out of Cineplex. Whether you want to do this, completely up to you.

However, as a long term option, this is a stock I'd be avoiding extensively. If they do survive this, they're going to do so on the back of extensive debt, and will be in rough financial shape when it finally gets running again. In fact, they're already in pretty rough shape financially.

It's tough to see any light at the end of the tunnel for a company like Cineplex. It was getting pretty grim for them even pre-COVID.
