ENB and FTS

Hi Dan.
Soon to retire, I hear a lot about Enbridge and Fortis. What are your thoughts.
Would you recommend them for a TFSA or possible RIFF, or do you like other stocks.
Any suggestions.
Thanks.

Outstanding options for a retiree. I actually own Fortis myself (it is a Foundational Stock as well). I do get a lot of criticism for owning a low beta, low growth stock like Fortis in my portfolio considering my time horizon is long.

However, it provides a bit of a volatility buffer and I don't mind accepting the lower returns on an equity like Fortis because when the markets turn sour like they did in 2022, Fortis tends to shine.

Both of these companies are great buy and holds for retirees. Low beta, tax efficient dividends. Set and forget type stocks.
