Hey there. In reality, there is little difference, or at least there shouldn't be.

When the ex-dividend date of a stock comes, the stock typically drops by the dividend being paid. So, at open tomorrow it's very likely Enghouse trades $1.50 cheaper and continues to trade at that range for a bit.

So, buy today and receive the $1.50 dividend per share in a month (mid February payout date) or buy when the stock goes ex-dividend and save $1.50~ per share, but don't receive the dividend payment in February.
