Hey there! Keep in mind, those 1 year targets are not set by us. They're set by analysts covering the company and it is the general consensus price. We get that data from ycharts.
I consider trying to predict the price of a stock 1 year from now the same as simply picking a number out of a hat. Put 20 different analysts in a room, you'll get 20 different price targets, and there's a chance all 20 could be wrong.
What I do like to watch though is the trend of the price targets. If they're constantly being increased, it's a bullish in a way that both analysts are liking the company, but those who do pay particular attention to these 1 year estimates will have a bullish attitude as well.
In terms of past performance, we couldn't get something like that in terms of price targets. However, we do have past performance of our Top 20 stocks dated all the way back to February of 2019. If you select the weekly top stocks list and click 2020 and 2019 archives, you can see all of our lists (which are still being tracked against the TSX as well)
