Hey there,

There is actually a new-ish product called CDRs - Canadian Depositary Receipts. They can be bought and sold in CAD and represent ownership of the underlying shares. THere is a list of available CDRs here: https://cdr.cibc.com/#/cdrDirectory

Of note, Amazon and Alphabet both have CDRs and are the same tickers are their US counterparts (AMZN and GOOG). There are also CDRs for Intel (INTC), Nividia (NVDA) and Microsoft (MSFT). This is probably the easiest and most simple way to get direct exposure to US-listed stocks without having to buy/sell in the US. It also allows to be more selective in your buys vs having to purchase an ETF. While I don't own any (yet), Dan does own quite a few CDRs.
