Impact of Loblaws bakery sell off

Do you think the proposed sell off of Loblaws bakery division will have a negative impact on share price. Or may it be positive as the management team has been given a shake up?

HI there,

First off, it is the proposed sell of of Weston's bakery division and while Loblaws is a subsidiary of George Weston, it doesn't appear as though it will be materially impacted. Furthermore, the bakery business accounts for only 10% of George Weston revenue, so the impact to Loblaws should be limited.

If there were fears, we would have seen Loblaw drop on the news and yet it has be trucking along to near 52-week highs.
