Invest in Kelt Exploration?

I notice you have KEL in your current weekly stock picks. Being an oil company and a small one at that, would you not worry about their future survival and earnings to come in the next 6 months due to the current crisis?

Thank you

Hey there Chris! We actually just sent something out via e-mail for this. But I'll copy and paste what we've said here:

"

One thing we cannot stress enough is the fact that our screener cannot detect macro-economic conditions. This is why you're seeing Kelt Exploration (KEL) in the number two position.

Our screeners algorithm is based on growth potential, current valuation and the overall safety of the stock. Our screener cannot however detect that the price of oil is trading at a 64% discount to December 2019 prices.

Kelt is a junior oil and gas company, and as we've stated recently we suggest avoiding them in the large majority of situations, unless you're willing to take on severe risk. The OPEC deal was somewhat underwhelming, with production cuts in the 10 million bpd range. We feel it just wasn't enough, especially considering the global demand is expected to plummet nearly 30 million bpd because of COVID 19.

Our Top 20 is best used as a screening tool to identify strong stocks. In fact, we use it all the time. Out of the 20 stocks this week, 6 of them are either on our Bull list now, or have made an appearance at some point.

However, it doesn't replace due diligence. Some members have had great success trading in and out of our Top 20 on a weekly basis, some have had great success researching the companies themselves and some have had success requesting we do research on some they may be interested in.

The choice is ultimately yours.

Keep an eye out for our newsletters, which we're going to return to regular schedules now. We're going to be going over two industries a lot of investors have interest in rate now, and may be taking on more risk than they think.
