Nouveau Monde is getting a lot of attention because it is a graphite play and all graphite stocks have been soaring lately. It seems investors have shifted their attention from Lithium to Graphite.
WIth company's like this, investors must proceed with caution. Why? First, it is being bid up on speculative momentum. Secondly, it does not yet have a producing asset. The good news is that it recently received approval to begin construction - a key milestone. The company received approval to produce 100,000 tonnes per annum (tpa) of high-quality graphite material.
It looks to become the largest graphite mine in the world. It aims to begin construction in the latter half of the year and enter commercial production in 2023. In other words, still lots of runway left for this company and mine construction could have several set backs (or not). Early stages here, and will very much be a volatile play in the coming years.
