Portfolio Analysis Tools - Stocktrades Canada

Not sure if this question is appropriate or not to ask here so please feel free to remove if you like but I’m wondering what are your thoughts on sites such as Simply Wall St or Sharesite to analyze our portfolio holdings? I really like both, Sharesite even more but the cost seems incredibly high. Already using Yahoo finance but it’s not quite enough. Do you find value in these tools or are there others you would suggest to help keep a better track of weightings, dividend payments, performance, etc? Thanks

I actually haven't used either of these platforms!

In terms of Sharesight I do agree. From what I see, a single portfolio is around $20 a month and it says you only get limited reporting. So, $240 a year. You'd need a pretty big portfolio to justify these costs in my eyes. We don't want to end up paying a good chunk of our dividends, just to be able to track our dividends. I know these platforms probably come with more than just simple tracking, but it seems like a cost to me that can be eliminated via a spreadsheet.

One of the primary reasons I've never even considered these platforms is because Questrade offers a pretty solid portfolio tracker in IQ Edge. I can see when dividend payments are coming, total allocation across ALL my accounts combined (TFSA,RRSP,LIRA etc), I can filter by performance, and it makes it so I have a complete portfolio overview.
