I have CAD 5k that i transferred from Scotia to Questrade after liquidating high MER Mutual Funds. I want a fire and forget approach throughout the 19-20 year time horizon.
I am thinking of RY and T from the Foundation list. Can you help me decide between ENB vs AQN as my 3rd stock pick?
Outside of the 3 stocks, I intend to invest $210 monthly into XIC and VFV/XAW. Since buying ETF is free in Questrade
Questions:
1) Which one would you recommend between ENB vs AQN
2) Which ETF between VFV / XAW ?
3) Growth vs Dividend. Perhaps I am being conservative here. But a growth stock like AMZN or say WELL always show unrealized gains or losses. I wont get a dime back unless I liquidate my position. Hence for RESP I am going for Dividend stocks. Do you think that’s too conservative and I can put a growth stock in RESP? if so, which one would you recommend for the 19/20 year time frame?
