Right Portfolio for RESP

Hi There – I have a portfolio of around $10k for my child’s RESP. She is around 9 years old. I am unhappy with the returns I am getting from my financial advisor’s recommendation. So I have decided to move the RESP to Questrade and start managing the portfolio on my own. Can you please advise which portfolio from your recommendations is best for this given that my investment horizon will be around 8-9 years. Thank you

Thanks for the quick response. To answer your question, I am not too active and would look for some long term growth stocks and ETFs to passively grow the portfolio.

Hey there. Time horizon unfortunately isn't the only thing you need to consider. What's your overall risk tolerance? Looking to outperform the markets with active management, or just passively let the account grow etc.

There's people with 8-9 year time horizons who are risk averse and simply buy index funds, and there's people with a 8-9 year time horizon who are very aggressive and actively manage a portfolio of growth stocks.
