Understand these are not intended as long term positions, but what are your thoughts on the leveraged ETFs where there are strong indicators and momentum in a sector (for a small % of your portfolio)?

These ETFs are very simple to explain. If you're comfortable with the leverage and acknowledge that as fast as it will go up, it will come down just as hard, then go right ahead with a more speculative position.

I have no opinion on these funds overall as they are generally a situation of whether or not it fits ones risk tolerance.

And as you mentioned, these are generally not meant to be held long term due to volatility decay etc. However, they can be used to enter and exit during bull runs.
