Unsure as how to use Empower as it only links to US institutions. Any thoughts?

As a Canadian you cannot use Empower unfortunately. It does suck because their suite of tools is truly amazing for it being absolutely free.

I'm not familiar with Empower and so I had to google it. Are you referring to the US discount brokerage? If so, US brokers are hit and miss when it comes to trading Canadian stocks. I'd contact them directly to see if its a possibility or not.

If you are not talking about the US discount broker, then I'm not really sure what you are referencing.
