I’d like to have metals in my portfolio but simply don’t know enough. So I’m thinking of an ETF to give me a cross section. Advise?

mvtravel@mymts.net, I think I read somewhere that comments don't trigger notifications. That's why you have not gotten a response, I'm guessing.

My suspicion is I'd be leaning towards equity based although physical based does sound intriguing.
Over the years I've seen the volatility in the metals world, Steel, copper, silver and gold have always gone up and down. But in the end the product is needed. So I'm looking at using the ETF to give me exposure in that world.

There are 3 types of commodity based etfs.

Equity based, which is ones that invest in producers
Futures based, which are ones that use futures contracts to get exposure
And physical based, where the etf holds the actual metal

Let me know which one you want, and I can point you in the direction.
