When to sell?

I like your idea keeping the Bull List short. As you said several times that removing a company from the Bull List is NOT a sell signal. Does it mean trimming the position to the target allocation or less than the target location? Will you send out a sell signal?

Hi there,

We don't put buy and sell signals since we don't trade stocks. We always add to the bull list with the intention that it is an attractive opportunity for the long term. That said, if there is something material that has changed in the company, then we will certainly let everyone know about the moves we make.

Sometimes we remove stocks from our Bull Lists just because its been there for a while. Others, its because there was a fundamental change to the investment thesis. If that happens, we'll certainly be clear about the reason for removal and leave it to our members to decide if that is reason enough for them to sell the stock. Some subscribers have higher risk tolerance, some are very defensive so how one reacts to the reasoning behind the removal will vary quite significantly. For example, those who have a lower risk tolerance are likely to book profits on Stella Jones, whereas many might keep their allocation (like Dan is doing). It really is an individual decision and what we try and do is give you enough to make an informed decision.

Hope that helps,

Mat
