Which Brookfield Renewable to buy…

I am new to investing and very new to Premium, so I apologize if this question elicits an “oh, brother” response. You list BEP.UN/BEPC on your Foundational Stocks list. I assume that means to buy either BEP.UN or BEPC. Is there an advantage to one over the other? What about the other Brookfield Renewables stocks, BEP.PR.M, BEP.PR.G, BEP.PR.R, BEPC.TO? Does the “PR” mean preferred shares? Is there a reason not to buy those? BEP.UN, BEPC, and BEPC.TO are all listed on Questrade at different prices, so I assume BEPC and BEPC.TO are not the same thing.

Ok, so I just discovered the Q&A search and found somebody had already asked a similar question regarding BEPC and BEP.UN. I would still like to know about the "PR"'s and BEPC.TO

Hey there. What exactly do you mean by PRs?

Sorry, I was abbreviating. BEP.PR.M, BEP.PR.G, BEP.PR.R all have "PR" in their stock symbols. BTW, please ignore the part of my question about BEPC vs BEPC.TO. Questrade lists the BEPC on your list as as BEPC.TO and they list BEPC as being on the NYSE. Maybe I should do more research before asking my questions? lol.

Haha, it's all good. No such thing as a bad question. The "PR" would be preferred shares. Generally, BEPC is more favorable from a tax perspective. That's pretty much the gist of it. In a tax sheltered account, it won't really matter.
