I don't research the senior home/older home living stocks just because I really don't like the business models (that being for profit companies that provide quality of life care for people). However, I do believe most of them are primarily income investments and can provide steady dividends for those in retirement or for those who want the income.
A&W Royalty converted to A&W Food Services of Canada and we removed it from the Bull List when it did so. I want to see how the company performs for a few quarters before I add it back to the Bull List. It is now structured as a regular restaurant company now and not a royalty fund so it has a big higher risk. However, I don't see many issues holding right now.
For Algoquin, I moved on many years ago from the company. The company is having some difficulties from an operating standpoint and is now selling off assets to pay down debt. Rising interest rates and this company's exposure to floating rate debt really hurt it. I'm not a fan.
